Wifinity

I was briefed by BH&P to create three images, from black and white sketches, that incorporate the WiFi symbol into them.

Image 1: Climber

The holds for the shape of the wifi logo – simple as that.

But what was involved in the construction of this image? It’s a blend of CGI and stock imagery – the boy tackling the climbing wall is obviously the photo, everything else is made in 3D.

A couple of options for the person ascending the wall were tried out to see which worked best and this was the chosen one as it was at the ideal angle to be able to accommodate the wifi shape in a pleasing way. All the holds and the wall were built and textured and lit to match the original shot. The camera was calibrated and matched to the stock image so that the perspective, the lens and viewing angle were the same.

Image 2: Rainy Caravan Park

Puddles forming wifi logo.

The scene was built in 3D and then the sky, rain, grass, horizon image and droplet splashes were added in post. The accent colours on the caravans reflect the brands identity.

Image 3: Hotel Pool

Pool accessories forming wifi logo

All made in 3D, including the tiled pool floor. Simple and graphical, a definite winner.
